Major US Alcohol Beverage Company Chooses EarthSearch LogiBoxx for Its Cargo and Logistics Operations

ATLANTA, Sept. 19, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- East Coast Diversified Corporation (OTC.BB: ECDC - News), through its subsidiary EarthSearch Communications, Inc., announces that a major US Alcohol Beverage Company has chosen it as vendor of choice to deliver logistics solution for its operation.

LogiBoxx (Integrated GPS and RFID) was chosen after extensive search for capabilities offered by the EarthSearch technology, which includes the ability to identify and locate trailers and tankers carrying the cargo independent of the carrier or trucker. The solution includes a mobile LogiBoxx device that can be issued to any carrier contracted to transport the cargo. Company owned and independently owned trailers are equipped with EarthSearch proprietary RFID Trailer Identification Device (TID). This gives the Company ability to assign a trailer to any carrier on the fly and with the capability to locate and track its cargo regardless of which carrier is moving the cargo. "The Company needed to know when there is separation between carrier's truck and the Company's trailer, the LogiBoxx which continuously communicate with the RFID based TID can detect separation and send immediate alert to the logistics and security operation center for immediate response," said Chris Ward, Hardware Manager for ECDC.

EarthSearch LogiBoxx solution will also be used for operational efficiency such as detecting how long a trailer has been at the plant or distribution center and if certain time threshold is exceeded, LogiBoxx will notify appropriate personnel. EarthSearch completed initial installation and other capabilities such as automating billing information such as weight of beverage in a tanker gathered by RFID with other custom applications are under discussion.
