Car Town Creator Cie Games Announces New Tokyo Office, Cie Games Japan

LONG BEACH, Calif., Sept. 8, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cie Games, a successful social game developer and creator of the leading automotive-based Facebook game, Car Town (www.facebook.com/cartown), announced today the launch of the company's global expansion to Japan and the release of Car Town Japan (Mobage) for the mobile market.

Located in Tokyo, the new office marks the entrance of Cie Games into a major overseas market. Cie Games Japan office includes a management team, programmers, marketing consultants, customer service representatives and business development team responsible for development and product maintenance for Car Town Japan.

The game debuts on DeNA's mobile social network, Mobage, which services 30 million users. Car Town Japan and Car Town on Facebook are similar in design style with familiar gameplay elements players know and love; however, Car Town Japan has been adapted, translated and localized with brand new features to appeal to the Japanese mobile market. Revenue from Car Town Japan is generated through micro-transactions that include car buying, performance enhancements and aesthetic upgrades. Cie Games will soon be developing Car Town on Apple iOS for use on the iPad and iPhone and the Android platform as well.

Car Town Japan on Mobage is a role-playing racing game where cars level up by racing against other players, taking drives and adding car parts. The game includes dozens of real-life automotive brands and has three race modes: drag, drift and rally. Drives are the adventure element in the game; players will see a top-down view of a map with points along a path for routes in real-world locations. Gamers can upgrade their car by adding car parts that effect level, mileage, horsepower, road performance and off-road performance. Additionally, players can earn money by completing jobs and services.

Cie Games Japan will be at the Tokyo Games Show, Thursday September 15- Sunday, September 18 in booth 5-N53, in Hall 5 showing Car Town Japan.
