T-Mobile USA Selected as Telecommunications Service Provider for Miami-Dade County Public School District

As the fourth-largest school district in the United States, the Miami-Dade County Public School District covers 2,000 square miles of both urban and rural cities. Comprised of 392 schools, 345,000 students and over 40,000 employees, the M-DCPS needed a service provider that could provide a complete mobile networking solution. "We worked very closely with the district to determine their communications needs and identify those products and services that would best serve them," said Torres. "Along with dedicated COWs for emergency preparedness, we have implemented IP BTS solutions for larger facilities, such as district offices, and signal boosters for smaller offices."

Since the beginning of 2010, T-Mobile has invested approximately $37 million in continuous network upgrades and improvements in Miami, and now has more than 308 cell sites operating 4G service in the area.
