Boulder, CO, August 22, 2011 --(PR.com)-- As the USA Pro Cycling Challenge descends upon Colorado, Dot Biking announces its Geocaching Challenge: Download the Dot Biking application at DotBiking.com, available to both Android and iPhone users, and use it to locate and win prizes hidden along the USA Pro Cycling Challenge route for the duration of the event from Monday, August 22 through Sunday, August 28.

Boulder, Colorado-based company Dot Biking, part of Dot Us Sports, is a free sports social network that connects Players with like-minded biking enthusiasts. The GPS-enabled app allows Players to use their Smartphones to track their rides and compete against one another to earn points, all while sharing their progress with friends and family at DotBiking.com and on Facebook.

Using real-time GPS tracking, Dot Biking enables Players to see how their pace stacks up against current or previous riders on the same route. Smartphone users can use the geo-tagging feature to take pictures along the way, and Players can swap voice messages with other riders on the trail as well as friends and family tracking their progress at home.

Founder Dan Gish says his goal in developing Dot Biking is to “connect people in exciting new ways and allow people to have fun while doing it.” Gish began his career as co-founder and CTO of SchoolFusion, a next generation school website company which was sold to Edline Corporation and Providence Equity in 2009.

Dot Biking's Geocaching Challenge marks the official launch of Dot Us Sports and celebrates the USA Pro Cycling Challenge, which will feature the best field of riders ever assembled on American soil. “We're huge cycling fans and have been following the Tour de France for years,” says Gish, “so we're extremely excited to see the same group of riders on our home turf.”

The race will travel over a 600-mile long journey over the highest altitude mountain course ever created in professional cycling. The event begins August 22 in Colorado Springs and finishes August 28 in Downtown Denver. To participate in the Dot Biking Geo-Caching Challenge, visit DotBiking.com to learn more.
