NEW YORK - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Bill Drummy, founder and CEO of Heartbeat Ideas, has been named a 2011 DTC Hall of Fame Inductee. The award honors individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary achievement in the advancement of direct-to-consumer marketing.

Along with Mr. Drummy, the Hall of Fame will also be welcoming Mark Bard, Executive Director and Co-Founder, Digital Health Coalition; Joan Mikardos, Senior Director Digital Center of Excellence, sanofi-aventis; and Nancy Phelan, Executive Director, Global Communications, Pfizer.

"I was prevented from reaching Cooperstown or Canton only by my complete lack of athletic ability. Fortunately, DTC requires nothing more physically challenging than standing at a podium," observed Mr. Drummy. "Of course the real challenge in our business is figuring out how to be creative in a very constrained environment. I'm proudest of being able to assemble a team of extraordinarily talented people and pointing them in the right direction for our clients."

Is there anything else Mr. Drummy finds satisfying about the honor? "As a matter of fact, yes. From this day forward, when my colleagues disagree with me, I can just tell them I'm a Hall of Famer and get them to give in."

Official Hall of Fame induction occurs during a special ceremony on October 12, a part of the DTC Perspectives' fall conference, Marketing to the Digital Consumer: Pharma Best Practices Present and Future.

During the conference Mr. Drummy will also moderate a panel, titled "Turtles in a Rabbit Race: How the 'Speed of Change' is Racing Past Pharma." This futurists panel will feature respected writers, doctors, entrepreneurs and pharmaceutical marketers who will posit the long-term effects of the power of the "Speed of Change." Looking beyond the hot topics of social and mobile, the panel will analyze the long-term impact of technology on healthcare, marketing and patient care.
