Anti Corruption Protest in Pictures
By Adil Akhzer and Puneet Sharma
Corruption is rampant in India. The government has been put on notice many times, but little has been done about it. Now, activists Anna Hazare, Arvind Kejriwal and others have been willing to put their lives on the line to shame the politicians into doing something about it.
Surprisingly, the politicians think they can just put off the activists as they have done many times before, but now things are different. The activists are serious and they cannot be paid off. The politicians think they can use the police to jail the leaders, but all that does is make the outcry louder.
The people have had enough of the games playes by the politicians. It is time for the politicians to listen and act, or suffer the consequences.
Photojournalist Punneet Sharma captured the essence of what is going on at a rally in New Delhi today.
