FoodLink Welcomes Price Chopper to Growing Online Network
LOS GATOS, Calif. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - FoodLink, the online network for fresh food retailers, wholesalers and
suppliers, today announced that Price Chopper Supermarkets of
Schenectady, N.Y., has selected FoodLink as their online commerce
platform for sourcing and managing perishable goods across 128 stores in
Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, and
Vermont.
"FoodLink enables us to get better information about the market for
fresh produce," said Keith Frosceno, Vice President of Produce, Price
Chopper. "The network also greatly enhances our produce supply chain
efficiency and product fulfillment. We expect to achieve higher service
levels and reporting tools to identify where we can continue to make
improvements."
FoodLink is an online network that connects all of the participants in
the fragmented perishable goods supply chain. The network consists of
more than 2,000 retail grocers and their fresh food suppliers, including
carriers and third-party brokers and wholesalers. The network helps
retailers manage the fresh food category to source the highest quality
products at competitive prices while reducing waste and inefficiencies
between suppliers and buyers that contribute to higher food costs. For
suppliers, FoodLink is a sales platform that simplifies the process of
managing orders, tracking shipments, responding to change requests, and
receiving payment.
"Whenever successful and innovative companies such as Price Chopper join
FoodLink we see benefits that extend to all network members," said Eric
Peters, President and CEO, FoodLink. "All of us at FoodLink are thrilled
to have Price Chopper on board, and we look forward to helping them
realize exceptional results."
Price Chopper is the latest in a series of regional grocery chains that
have selected FoodLink to manage their fresh food category, including
K-VA-T Food Stores and Roundy's Supermarkets.
