dbMotion Receives ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 Certification Through CCHIT
PITTSBURGH - (BUSINESS WIRE) - dbMotion, an innovative provider of connected healthcare solutions,
today announced that its inpatient EHR system version 4.2 has been
certified by the U.S. Office of the National Coordinator - Authorized
Testing and Certification Body (ONC-ATCB) for the American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act (ARRA) 2011/2012 EHR Modular Certification* through
the Certification Commission For Health Information Technology (CCHIT).
The certification covers three use cases: electronic copy of health
information, electronic copy of discharge instructions, and exchange of
clinical information and patient summary information.
"We are delighted to have achieved this certification," says Brian
Weiss, executive vice president of products for dbMotion. "Many of our
clients are striving to comply with meaningful use requirements, but
their EHRs alone can't get them there. The dbMotion solution helps
providers bridge any existing gaps by providing semantically harmonized
data, thereby enabling them to access, exchange and act upon important
information within their familiar workflow."
"Healthcare providers today face ever-changing challenges both
financially and technologically," says Peter McClennen, president of
dbMotion North America. "Hospitals and health systems are dedicating
vast resources to creating connected communities, and we are committed
to providing solutions that accelerate their progress."
The ONC-ATCB 2011/2012 certification program tests and certifies that
Complete EHRs meet all of the 2011/2012 criteria and that EHR Modules
meet one or more, but not all, of the criteria approved by the U.S.
Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) for either eligible
healthcare provider or hospital technology. dbMotion version 4.2 is
2011/2012-compliant in accordance with the criteria adopted by HHS. The
EHR certification enables healthcare providers to meet the Stage 1
meaningful use standards to qualify for the federal incentive payments
established under ARRA. To receive such incentives, healthcare providers
must meet the requirements outlined in the CMS EHR Incentive Program.
The Health Information Technology for Electronic and Clinical Health Act
(HITECH) is the component of ARRA designed to increase the use of EHR
systems by physicians and hospitals.
