Metaswitch Networks Gets Nod as 'Best New Idea' in Informal Polling at CableLabs Conference

KEYSTONE, Colo. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Metaswitch Networks was selected best new idea most likely to succeed as part of informal polling conducted during the Innovation Showcase at CableLabs Summer Conference today.

A total of 10 companies participated in the showcase session which is designed to provide each company with 10 minutes to present and demonstrate its technology solution for cable.

Metaswitch Networks demonstrated Thrutu, an in-call content sharing application for PCs, smartphones and tablet computers, designed to work across business, residential and mobile customers.

Other Showcase participants were ARRIS, Clearleap, CTERA Networks, Dyyno, FourthWall Media, Ignite Solutions, Manilla, Tely Labs and ViVu.

"The Showcase once again attracted advanced digital cable solutions offering operators some great, innovative technologies that can help providers expand services offered to our customers," said Mark Coblitz, Senior Vice President of Strategic Planning, Comcast.

"Thrutu gives carriers a way to bring new and creative services to their voice subscribers by letting users instantly share all manner of interactive content and media during a phone conversation and we are very excited to have the opportunity to work with the cable operators to bring these Thrutu capabilities to their customers."
