TicketNetwork Advisory -- Outside Lands Festival Attracts Nearby Music Fans

When the Outside Lands Music and Arts Festival comes to San Francisco's Golden Gate Park on August 12, 57% of its attendees will have travelled 100 miles or less to hear bands like Muse, Phish, and Arcade Fire, according to data from the TicketNetwork exchange. Of that number, 43% will be from San Francisco itself.

Sales of Outside Lands tickets have grown by nearly 49% on the Exchange since its inaugural year in 2008. The overall average price for the event has also risen from $179 in 2008 to $195 in 2011. The current highest average price among the festival's three days is for the first day, August 12, at $222.

Muse, Phish, Arcade Fire, The Black Keys, deadmau5, MGMT, Erykah Badu, and Arctic Monkeys are just a few of the groups joining the more than 70 acts appearing at Outside Lands. In addition to music, the festival includes vendor displays and a number of additional activities.
