ITT Industrial Process Delivers eLearning Program through eCommerce Capability

PITTSBURGH - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Inmedius, Inc. announces that ITT Industrial Process (IP), a division of ITT Corp. (NYSE:ITT) and manufacturer of Goulds Pumps, valves and other systems serving industries around the world, has successfully implemented an eCommerce-based training program through its Generation21 Learning System. ITT IP uses the System for both its revenue-producing plant performance learning services for customers, and for cost reduction of distributor training programs.

ITT IP's browser-based Learning Management System (LMS) is hosted by Inmedius Learning at its Denver, Colorado, data center and includes a large library of highly customizable course offerings for ITT IP customers and distributors both nationally and internationally.

"We chose Inmedius because of the Generation21 Learning System's scalability, flexibility, adaptability, and compelling value to meet both our eLearning and eCommerce business requirements," stated Marsha VanDusen, Learning and Development Analyst, ITT IP. "In a short time period, customer training has turned from what traditionally is a cost center for most organizations into a revenue-producing, profitable business, and the system has also helped us reduce costs for distributor training programs. After only a year in operation, we are well on our way to full recovery of our initial investment in eCommerce capability."

Inmedius modified and extended the core functionality already built into its Learning System to create a customizable skeleton to support eCommerce to either individuals or for a business-to-business model. Customers and distributors throughout the United States and the world purchase unsurpassed, expert training on pumps and pump system reliability as well as private, customized training. IP's eLearning system accepts both credit card and purchase order payment methods, a "lights out" process that can occur without significant human intervention, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Before implementing the Inmedius Learning solution, payment had to be handled manually.

"ITT Industrial Process has developed a unique approach to training, pioneering an innovative eCommerce model," explained Michael Limback, Account Manager, Inmedius Learning. "In order to satisfy ITT IP's needs, we redesigned the eCommerce user interface of the system to be more user-friendly and compatible with other Internet services by offering capabilities like a shopping cart and check out. We also worked to ease the enrollment process for a broad audience, which includes users working on a shop floor with no computer access."
