Select Walmart Stores Near the Watkins Glen International to Host NASCAR Fan Events

WATKINS GLEN, N.Y., Aug. 3, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- As Watkins Glen International prepares for the upcoming Heluva Good! Sour Cream Dips at the Glen Sprint Cup Series, select Walmart stores near Watkins Glen International will host exclusive NASCAR fan events through its new Race Time program starting Aug. 10. Customers are invited to attend these special events and enjoy real stock racing car displays and racing simulator machines - perfect to safely get behind the wheel and feel the power of NASCAR - Aug. 10 - 13 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.

"We've found that nearly nine out of 10 NASCAR fans chose to shop at Walmart(i)," said Walmart market manager Mike Judd. "We wanted to provide Watkins Glen race fans with unique Race Time experiences and unbelievable savings on NASCAR merchandise that you can only find at Walmart."

In addition to the fan events happening in Walmart parking lots and storefronts, Walmart stores will feature incredible prices on NASCAR merchandise during the racing season such as T-shirts, racing flags, and tailgating food and beverages with even more selection of exclusive product on Walmart.com/NASCAR.

Local radio station WOKN 99.5 will be at Walmart Store #1976 in Horseheads broadcasting remotely on Thursday, Aug. 11 from 12 p.m. to 3 p.m.
