Alumina Abrasives From Meller Optics Produce Superior Finish at Lower Cost Than Diamond Abrasives

Meller Optics, Inc. provides a complete line of high purity calcined alumina polishing abrasives for grinding, lapping, and producing a superior finish on optics at a lower cost than diamond abrasives.

Meller Microlux Alumina Abrasive Powders can produce surface finishes to 10-5 scratch-dig on calcium fluoride, ferrites, germanium, silicon, stain-less steel, zinc selenide, and zinc sulfide. Featuring seven particle sizes from 0.05 to 3.0 µm, these high purity calcined alumina abrasive powders are a lower cost alternative to diamond abrasives, claims the firm.

Ready to mix with deionized water, Meller Microlux Alumina Abrasive Powders are offered in two grades: Microlux-R for aggressive grinding and lapping, which is 99.98% pure, with large agglomerated particles that break down under pressure for final polishing, and Microlux-RZ which is 99.99% pure and has controlled particle sizes for fine grinding and uniform polishing.
