Methodist Center for Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine at Willowbrook, Unlike Anything Available in Northwest Houston -- 25,000 Square Foot Facility With Complete Orthopedic and Sports Medicine Care and Rehabilitation

The Methodist Center for Orthopaedic Surgery & Sports Medicine at Willowbrook opens its doors on the Methodist Willowbrook campus. The new, 25,000 square foot orthopedic and rehabilitation facility is unlike anything currently available in northwest Houston, equipped with the latest technology available in orthopedic and sports medicine diagnostics and treatment.

The community is invited to tour the new facility at an Open House Tuesday, August 2 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at 13802 Centerfield Drive (3rd floor). The physicians will be on hand to answer questions and the Houston Dynamo will be signing autographs and organizing activities to demonstrate the new running and throwing lanes.

Located on the Methodist Willowbrook campus, the facility is home to an elite team of board-certified and fellowship trained orthopedic and sports medicine specialists in the field of hand and upper extremity, foot and ankle, hip and spine and sports injuries -- many of whom are recognized among Texas' top physicians by peers and patients and serve as team doctors to professional, collegiate and high school sports teams.

The new facility features ImPACT baseline testing and concussion management using computerized neuropsychological testing, and running and throwing lanes -- along with the latest in diagnostic and therapeutic equipment for optimal rehabilitative therapies.

According to Dr. Korsh Jafarnia, Methodist Willowbrook's former Chief of Staff and the Hand and Upper Extremity Specialist at the new orthopedic center, the facility is unique to the northwest Houston community and offers under a single roof advanced physical therapy as well as occupational (hand) therapy, the latest in minimally invasive endoscopic and arthroscopic procedures as well as injection therapies and PRP (platelet rich plasma) treatments.

"We have assembled a specialized team to bring to the community advanced minimally invasive treatment options and rehabilitative therapies once only found at the medical center. This cutting-edge facility enables us to offer the latest in orthopedic, primary care sports medicine and rehabilitation unlike anything currently available in the community," said Dr. Jafarnia.

The specialized sports medicine team includes renowned sports medicine physician Dr. Bruce Moseley, former head team doctor for the Houston Rockets, the Houston Comets and the U.S. Men's and Women's Olympic Basketball "Dream Teams," as well as primary care sports medicine specialist Dr. Scott Rand and highly trained athletic trainers and physical and occupational therapists.

"Rather than specializing in an organ system or disease process, we are specialists in dealing with the unique health needs of a subset of the population... athletes. This advanced facility and specialized team will allow us to keep athletes in optimal condition," said Dr. Rand.

To check the dates for upcoming sports clinics, or to learn more about the physicians and the services available at the new center go to www.methodistwillowbrookortho.com, or call (281) 737-0999.
