Revel Consulting's Vikas Kamran Named to City Year Board

Managing Director to Help Organization Evaluate Services and Build Roadmap to Expand Reach and Promote Service Among Young People

Revel Consulting (www.revelconsulting.com), a Kirkland, Washington-based business management consulting firm, announced today that Vikas Kamran, its Co-Founder and Managing Director, has joined the Board of City Year Seattle/King County. City Year provides year-long, full-time programs for young leaders to act as tutors, mentors and role models to help children stay in school and on track, and transform schools and communities. As a member of the Board, Kamran will participate in the development of a strategic road-map for City Year to reach its goals of scaling its programs more effectively and developing new, innovative methods of fundraising to support that growth.

"City Year's corps members have a profound impact on the children they interact with and I look forward to providing new ideas to expand their reach and foster behavior that enables the organization to strive for aggressive educational goals."

Through City Year's Whole School, Whole Child service model, City Year deploys diverse teams of full-time corps members in schools to help students stay on track -- and get back on track -- to graduate. In each partner school, these young leaders begin their in-school service before the first bell rings and stay until the last child leaves the after-school program.

Leveraging his years of experience and business management skills, Kamran will help the Board evaluate City Year's current growth plan, recommend realistic timelines and budgets, while setting up activities and tasks the organization can execute on to achieve its goals. He will also apply his expertise in mobile and social media technologies to City Year's fundraising efforts in order to better target and acquire a new base of donors.

In 2009 Kamran helped launch Revel's Sustainable Giving program, which aims to support non-profit organizations, such as City Year, by going beyond traditional monetary donations and providing consulting services that ensure organizations can sustain their cause over the long run. In addition to financial support, Revel associates draw on their strong background as business management professionals to help organizations streamline operations, improve efficiencies, lower overhead and, in doing so, maximize impact. Revel associates have also offered their project management and marketing expertise to Revel-Rad Racing Junior Cycling Team, Foster Kids 5K Run & Walk, Treehouse, and Roses & Rosemary.
