Panasonic Integrates Interlink's 'VersaPad ' Touchpad with the Toughbook 31 Laptop
CAMARILLO, Calif. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Interlink Electronics, Inc. (OTC: LINK), announced today that the
upgraded Panasonic Toughbook 31 rugged laptop now integrates
Interlink's 'VersaPad ' touchpad technology.
Interlink Electronics is a global leader in the design of patented
Force-Sensing Resistor (FSR ) technology. For over 25 years, Interlink
Electronics' solutions have focused on handheld user input, menu
navigation, cursor control, & other intuitive interface technologies for
the world's top electronics manufacturers. Interlink Electronics has a
15 year track record of supplying touchpads for use in uncompromising,
harsh environments.
Interlink's VersaPad is a resistive touchpad that uses a unique pressure
sensing technology, enabling exceptionally light touch and smooth
tracking. Unaffected by moisture and other contaminants, the VersaPad is
operable with any glove or passive stylus, and may be environmentally
sealed to NEMA 4X / IP65 standards. This compelling combination makes
the VersaPad ideally suited to the harsh environments in which the
Panasonic Toughbook excels. The VersaPad is supported by a mouse driver
which provides users with an advanced feature set and multi-language
support.
"The Toughbook brand has a global reputation for quality, performance
and reliability and we are proud Panasonic feels our VersaPad meets
their high standards," said Trevor Bray, Vice President of Sales,
Interlink Electronics. "We have engineered our FSR technology to meet
the most demanding requirements and believe Toughbook users will benefit
from this work. We hope this is the first step in a long and mutually
beneficial relationship with Panasonic."
"The Panasonic Corporation, one of the largest electronic product
manufacturers in the world, manufactures and markets a wide range of
products under the Panasonic brand," says Steven N. Bronson, CEO,
Interlink Electronics. "As such, Interlink Electronics, a world leading
innovator of intuitive interface design, looks forward to a long-term
partnership, enhancing the user interface/experience with both of our
companies combining an array of technologies and expertise."
The Panasonic Toughbook 31 offers the highest performance in its class
along with the world's most rugged design. The MIL-STD-810G and IP65
certified Toughbook 31 is the ideal solution for mobile professionals in
mission-critical environments, including first responders, military
