BAE Systems to Provide Information Technology Services and Support To U.S. Special Operations Command

BAE Systems is one of seven companies that will pursue task orders under the indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity contract, which has a total estimated value of $65 million. Specifically, the company will work with USSOCOM's IT management office in areas including applications maintenance and development, planning and engineering as well as management and information assurance. BAE Systems will oversee the transition of application management services from the incumbent service provider, and provide ongoing support throughout the life of the SITEC agreement.

"U.S. special operations forces deployed throughout the globe require effective, reliable and secure information to protect our interests against enemy networks," said Paul Falkler, vice president and general manager of the Information Technology and Cybersecurity Solutions business for BAE Systems. "Our enhanced IT solutions will enable USSOCOM to enhance and maintain software applications to support their mission."

The work will help USSOCOM achieve an increase in mission operations support and control, establish transparency and accountability; foster effectiveness, innovation and communication; drive cost optimization and enable net centricity.
