Season Saved! Buffalo Wild Wings Celebrates the Return of Football
MINNEAPOLIS - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Buffalo Wild Wings is celebrating the return of football by honoring
its offer of six free wings to anyone who signed its Save
Our Season Facebook Petition. The negotiations may have gone into
overtime, but the pro football labor disagreement has been resolved.
With more than 45,000 fans having signed the petition by the July 20
deadline, Buffalo Wild Wings is prepared to serve up more than 270,000
free wings to its guests during pro football games in September.
Buffalo Wild Wings spiced up the Save Our Season movement by pledging
that if the players and owners reached a settlement by July 20 - the
first day players were scheduled to report to training camp - everyone
who signed the petition would be awarded six free wings to be redeemed
with the return of pro football in September. Even though the owners and
players took five extra days to come to an agreement, Buffalo Wild Wings
wanted to thank its fans for making the Save Our Season movement such a
success.
"Football fans are the big winners today and we're thrilled they will be
able to gather in our restaurants to watch pro football this fall," said
Kathy Benning, Buffalo Wild Wings executive VP, marketing and brand
development. "This is great news not only for us, but for our partners
and businesses across the country. Along with fans, we're eagerly
anticipating the start of college and pro football games and we're ready
to welcome draft parties with plenty of our award-wining wings, cold
beer and great fantasy football draft kits."
Buffalo Wild Wings Facebook fans who have signed the petition will soon
receive a Facebook message containing a coupon for six free wings. The
coupon can be redeemed during any pro football game in the month of
September at any of the more than 770 Buffalo Wild Wings locations in
the United States and Canada. The petition, along with an open letter to
the owners and players on behalf of football fans across the country,
were part of Buffalo Wild Wings' effort to give the fans a voice at the
table. Now that football is back, restaurants are ready to provide a
great game day experience.
Fantasy football fans will be glad to know Buffalo Wild Wings is ready
to welcome them back with the return of its annual fantasy football
draft party promotion. Groups of eight or more who host their fantasy
league drafts in-restaurant will receive $100 in gift certificates
redeemable at future visits. Leagues also will receive complimentary
draft kits that include a draft board, player stickers, koozies, a
championship pennant, and more. Draft kits are limited so league
commissioners should call their local Buffalo Wild Wings today to
reserve their ultimate draft party experience. Fans should visit www.BuffaloWildWings.com
to find the closest location.
