RIP Amy Winehouse: A Musical Genius
By Robert Paul Reyes
"Amy Winehouse was found dead at her home in northern London, USA Today reported, citing police. A 27-year-old female was declared dead at a Camden Square residence shortly after 4 p.m. today, police told Bloomberg News, declining to identify the woman by name."

As a pop culture critic for Newsblaze.Com and TheSOP.Org I have written countless articles chronicling the rapid rise to superstardom of Amy Winehouse, and her equally quick descent into drug and alcohol addiction and ultimately irrelevance.
The troubled singer's drug-fueled antics provided fodder for many humorous editorials, but today I don't feel like a comic.
The talented diva's many run-ins with the law allowed me the opportunity to use her as a cautionary tale, but today I don't' feel like a moralist or a preacher.
I predicted many times that her debauchery would lead to an early death, but today I don't feel like a prophet.
Today I mourn the death of Amy Winehouse as a fan, as someone who admired her musical genius.
Amy released only two albums "Frank" and "Back to Black", both of them universally regarded as masterworks.
In a perfect world Amy would never have succumbed to the pitfalls of celebrity, and she would have left us a legacy of dozens of remarkable albums.
But this is far from a perfect world, and we will have to make do with the few exquisite songs she left us.
I am deeply saddened by the death of Amy Winehouse. Damn Amy Jade Winehouse, why did you leave us so soon?
