Somali Football Federation has on Tuesday concluded a four-week long Futsal for peace and friendship tournament which was won by Nu'man Futsal team boys in the final match.

During the hotly contested final match Nu'man boys defeated their Horseed rivals by 8-2. This was the worst humiliation that a team meets since the tournament started on 26th of June.

The Futsal for peace and friendship tournament is an annual event which the Somali Football Federation intended to encourage peace building and create friendship among young boys through football for peace activities.

At the end of the final match, a small ceremony to mark on the conclusion of the tournament was held at the Waberis district Futsal stadium where the competition was under way for the past four weeks.

The district commissioner Ahmed Meyre Makaraan who delivered a short address at the conclusion ceremony thanked the Somali Football Federation 'SFF' for preferring to host the peace and friendship tournament at his district stadium.

The SFF deputy secretary General Hassan Mohamed Mahmoud told the ceremony that the young boys who were representing 8 teams in the tournament were mostly rehabilitated under football for peace programs implemented by the Somali Football Federation for the past four years.

"This tournament has produced positive results in terms of creating friendship among young boys and that is why the SFF decided to hold such competition once in every year" the Somali Football Federation deputy president Abdullahi Abow Hussein said as he was presenting the trophy to the winning team's captain on Tuesday afternoon.
