Photo app Flickr Studio for iPad gets Globetrotter Update

ALKMAAR, the Netherlands, July 18, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --

With the holiday season just around the corner, Keeple, the Dutch developer of the popular iPad app "Flickr Studio," introduces a major update with features that are particularly aimed at vacationing iPad users.

"Combining Flickr Studio app with Apple's camera connection kit, it's easy to send your best photos to Flickr while traveling," explains developer Robin van Mourik. "You can import photos directly from your digital camera and into Flickr Studio, add desired titles and descriptions and decide who is allowed to see the pictures. The app allows you to build what's basically an upload queue while you are still offline. Once you get access to a WIFI network, all you have to do is tap the 'start' button and the queued images are sent directly to Flickr. All of this happens in the background leaving you time to answer your e-mail and working on your travel blog. During the upload, Flickr Studio handles the complex stuff, such as optionally reducing image size and categorizing photos into the right sets."

In addition to the new uploading features, the app offers its own geo-tagging tool. Using the detailed Google Maps as a basis where simple touch gestures make it incredibly easy to add geographic information to your photos, before you forget where you took 'that specific shot.'

Another significant improvement in the version 3.0 update includes innovative sliding information panels showing you the context, description, location and other details of the photo you are currently viewing. This makes it possible to have, for instance, the EXIF panel open while browsing photos, thus immediately showing you each photo's camera settings. These panels contribute to a much improved user experience and are in their own way a whole new way to experience the millions of photos on Flickr and discover inspiration.

"The improvements in this latest update put Flickr Studio a lot closer to our goal of creating 'the ultimate Flickr app for the iPad.' We are glad to have this new version out just before the holiday season. We're hoping that it'll enable many travelers to share their trips with the friends and family at home."

Flickr Studio 3.0 is available on the App Store
