Fat City, New Orleans Wins Another Award at the Accolade Competition
Other wins include an official selection at the 2011 LA Film + Music Weekend in addition to wins from Indie Fest and The Los Angeles Movie Awards.
The news came shortly after Mouton Films and Productions announced its partnership with Vanguard Cinema for distribution of "Fat City, New Orleans." According to Producer Stephen Mouton, "It's been an exciting couple of weeks for the production company."
"Fat City, New Orleans" centers on high schools teens growing up in the 1979 suburb of New Orleans and follows them as they go to nightclubs and discos take advantage of the 18+ drinking age. Not only was the drinking age 18 instead of 21, but enforcement of the law was little to none.
It's Paul's senior year of high school and Ashley wants to be his girlfriend, but Paul's wandering eye keeps him chasing cheerleaders and young models in his Babylon Modeling class. Paul's ex-girlfriend Tara - who can be compared to the That 70s Show character, Jackie Burkart played by Mila Kunis - has plans of her own and conspires to make them happen. In the midst of this love triangle, Paul is also trying to scheme his way out of trouble with the cops. Needless to say, he's got a lot on his plate.
"Fat City, New Orleans" features music by That 70s Show composer, Brett Perry, in addition to music by Elvis Costello, The Knack, and KC & The Sunshine Band, for an authentic 70s feel.
