Glee Star 'Lea Michele' To Leave Hit Show Next Year
By Robert Paul Reyes
"Lea Michele, Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith won't be returning for a fourth season, show co-creator Ryan Murphy told the Hollywood Reporter. Murphy says the characters will be among those 'graduating.'" Read More About Lea Michele
The star of the show, Lea Michele is 24, Chris Colfer is 21 and Cory Monteith is a mind-boggling 29. I'd say it's high time that these "kids" finally graduated from high school.
When the trio started the show they were sophomores, it would strain credulity if they didn't graduate at the end of the third season.
I believe that the producers of Glee are doing the right thing by kicking Colfer, Michele and Monteith to the curb, but it's a death knell for the show. There is no way that Glee can recover from losing such pivotal stars at the same time.
The replacements should be teenagers who actually look like high school students instead of teachers. Maybe the producers will get very lucky and hire telegenic teens who can stick around for more than four years. But as far as I'm concerned when Lea leaves the show, so will I.
