PALO ALTO, Calif., July 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Visible Energy, Inc., creator of connected home energy conservation and management products, today announced its EnergyUFO+ iPad application that allows Pacific Gas & Electric customers in California to access electrical usage data from an iPad.

The free software is available from the Apple's App Store. It presents daily and hourly total electrical consumption and cost as quickly as PG&E makes it available, typically within 24 to 36 hours.

The EnergyUFO+ iPad application can also be used to control and access socket-level electrical consumption data from the company's UFO Power Center, a Wi-Fi enabled, four-outlet power management center.

Introduced in May, the UFO Power Center is available to U.S. and Canadian customers through the company's online store at www.energyufo.com at the introductory price of $99.99.

Named for its unique and whimsical shape, the UFO Power Center is an electricity monitoring and conservation device that connects to a Wi-Fi home network and provides real-time power monitoring, as well on/off switching, and timer control of up to four electrical devices.

"Many households are oblivious to their smart meters and some even see them as a nuisance," said Marco Graziano, Visible Energy co-founder and CEO.

"Allowing consumers to access the data made available from smart meters and use it with consumer conservation products will help the smart grid have an impact on our electricity consumption behaviors," said Graziano, a veteran Silicon Valley CEO and entrepreneur who started Visible Energy to help consumers conserve energy as easily as possible.
