ECOT to Hire 100 People for Upcoming School Year
COLUMBUS, Ohio - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Following a year of unprecedented growth, ECOT, Ohio's largest and
oldest online school, will add more than 100 statewide jobs - including
75 new teaching jobs - for the beginning of the 2011-2012 school year.
To attract statewide candidates, the school will hold its first Job
Fair on Tuesday, July 12 from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Interested candidates planning to attend should visit http://www.ecotohio.org/jobfair
to register.
ECOT currently employs more than 500 teachers from all over Ohio
to work for the fastest-growing school in the state. The school grew by
more than 2000 students this past school year alone, the largest growth
period for ECOT since it opened its doors in August 2000.
ECOT now has more than 12,000 total enrolled students, which makes it
the largest K-12 online school in Ohio and the nation.
ECOT teachers and students work from their homes all across Ohio. ECOT
teachers enjoy the flexibility of working from home while still
conducting daily instruction and making a difference in their students'
lives.
ECOT's headquarters on the far south side of Columbus has grown with the
school. Since beginning in a single suite in the old Southland Mall, the
school has expanded to occupy nearly the entire mall and is one of the
largest employers on the south side with more than 715 total employees.
