SUPERVALU to Host "Family Day at the Stockman & Dakota Corral" at 11 Store Locations

"Nothing says 'summer' like a good cookout, and we wanted to invite all our friends and neighbors to a fun event featuring our Stockman & Dakota beef as well as cowboy-themed games and prizes," said Chris Hooks, SUPERVALU's Vice President, Meat, Seafood, Dairy, Frozen Foods.

The event, designed to promote SUPERVALU's private label premium Angus beef brand - Stockman & Dakota - will also feature family-friendly samples from major national brands.

Celebrity Grill-Off Showdown
At the events, local celebrities will grill up Stockman & Dakota steaks using their own special recipes. Visitors will be able to sample and vote for their favorite celebrity-prepared steak. The winning grill-master, as determined by visitors' votes, will receive a $5,000 donation to their charity of choice and bragging rights in the showdown. The second- and third-place celebrities will receive a $2,500 donation each to their charity of choice. In total, local charities in SUPERVALU markets will receive more than $100,000 in donations from SUPERVALU. The event will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. local time on Saturday, July 9, 2011. The Celebrity Grill-Off Showdown will take place from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with the winners being announced at approximately 1:00 p.m. Stores hosting the event are:

• Acme in Philadelphia
• Albertsons stores in Eagle, Idaho; Gig Harbor, Wash.; Goleta, Calif.; and San Diego
• Cub Foods in Crystal, Minn.
• Farm Fresh in Virginia Beach, Va.
• Jewel-Osco stores in Chicago and Libertyville, Ill.
• Shaw's in Dedham, Mass.
• Shoppers Food & Pharmacy in Alexandria, Va.
