College World Series® and the NCAA Hit a Home Run with Flash Seats® Paperless Ticket Option

OMAHA, Neb., July 7, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- The NCAA hit a home run this year using Flash Seats®, the patented paperless ticketing technology from industry leader Veritix®, to sell more than 11,000 digital tickets at the recently concluded NCAA College World Series.

The NCAA created its own CWS-branded Flash Seats marketplace to provide fans with a safe and secure method to quickly and easily buy, sell and transfer tickets for this year's national baseball championship.

"Using Flash Seats was an innovative way to provide our fans with convenience if they wanted to buy or sell tickets to the College World Series, and it also provided them with safety measures against unauthorized parties who could have taken advantage of them," said Dennie Poppe, NCAA vice president for Division I baseball and football. "We were also pleased to go paperless, which helps the environment, so overall, we were pleased with the Flash Seats system."

With Flash Seats, both the buyers and sellers are anonymous, which ensures that each account holder's identity is protected during marketplace transactions. When a ticket is purchased, Flash Seats automatically transfers the ticket, which is always legitimate and guaranteed, into the buyer's account. The sale price and a connection fee is charged to the credit card associated with the buyer's account. The tickets were available on a College World Series® and NCAA-endorsed Flash Seats marketplace. When fans that had Flash Seats paperless tickets arrived at TD Ameritrade Park Omaha, they simply used the form of electronic identification they registered at the time of purchase to swipe in at the gate and enter the venue.

"The NCAA and College World Series are dedicated to protecting the students and fans and providing ticketing solutions that are safe, secure and fan friendly," said Jeff Kline, President of Veritix. "The CWS Flash Seats site provided a great example of how a paperless ticketing technology platform can be good for the teams, schools, organization, the city and, ultimately, the fans. We are honored to be part of the CWS and look forward to helping fans have a great time at the ballpark in the future."
