Kitten Survives Toss From Moving Car
By Robert Paul Reyes
"A tiny kitten survived a harrowing ordeal on the Verrazano Bridge after the feline was thrown from a moving car, landing near the edge of the bridge before being rescued by a passing animal control officer.
The officer quickly pulled the vehicle over to try and rescue the kitten, which was found near the edge of the bridge. Passing truck drivers stopped to help block traffic while the rescue occurred, animal control officials said." Read More
This story illustrates the best of humanity and the worst of humanity. Nobody decides on the spur of the moment to throw a kitten out of a moving car on a bridge, this was a premeditated act of cruelty. It was a miracle the cat wasn't injured or killed, and it's a miracle there wasn't an accident.
Fortunately, an animal control official witnessed the crime, and he managed to rescue the kitten. The lucky kitty was brought to an animal care facility, and he has been named Verrazano.
People who commit outrageous acts get all the attention, but it should be noted that these clowns are aberrations, and that most folks simply try to do the right thing. I commend the truck drivers who blocked the traffic so that the animal control officer could rescue the little creature.
If anybody witnessed this unspeakable act of cruelty, please notify the authorities.
