Mentor Graphics Expands Verification Academy Portal with Additional UVM/OVM Content
WILSONVILLE, Ore. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Mentor
Graphics Corporation (NASDAQ:MENT) today announced that the Mentor Verification
Academy website, which provides access to information and online
training on advanced functional verification technologies, has been
expanded to serve the growing information requirements of companies
adopting the Universal
Verification Methodology (UVM) and the Open
Verification Methodology (OVM). The use of these methodologies has
skyrocketed in recent years as they continue to deliver on the promise
of improved design and verification productivity, verification data
portability, and tool and verification IP (VIP) interoperability.
By expanding the Verification Academy site to include broader access to UVM/OVM
information, including the active 'forum' that had previously been
located on OVMworld.org, Mentor is providing a single access point for
rich content, self-paced training, current information and
engineer-to-engineer interaction on everything related to the functional
verification of IC designs. Industry experts in all facets of functional
verification are regular contributors to the portal and serve as
moderators for real-time discussions. In addition, the portal provides
early access to information, downloads and examples for the evolving UVM
standard.
In addition to the video courses, the Verification Academy also boasts
the newly released UVM/OVM Online Methodology
Cookbook, the first comprehensive interactive textbook for
verification engineers. Covering both UVM and OVM, the Cookbook provides
detailed descriptions, guidelines and coding examples for all aspects of
verification IP and testbench design making optimal use of the
methodologies.
"Our vision for the Verification Academy is to provide the necessary
skills that enable our customers to take advantage of today's latest,
advanced functional verification techniques," said Harry Foster, chief
scientist for the Design Verification Technology division at Mentor.
"With industry adoption of the Accellera UVM standard expected to
increase by 233% within the next twelve months, our new UVM/OVM
Verification Methodology Portal is both timely and aligns well with the
Verification Academy's vision. In addition, our new Verification Academy
intelligent testbench automation (iTBA) module provides a wonderful
introduction to the latest state-of-the-art, advanced functional
verification techniques."
About the Verification Academy
The Mentor Graphics Verification Academy is a first of its kind-unlike
anything in the industry. Its goals are to provide the skills necessary
to mature an organization's advanced functional verification process
capabilities. To this end, the Verification Academy provides a
methodological bridge between high-level value propositions (related to
advanced verification technology) and the low-level details (related to
specific tool and verification language details). Visit http://verificationacademy.com/
for a list of current and planned Verification Academy events and
resources.
