The President of Costa Rica, Laura Chinchilla, the nation's Presidential Minister, Carlos Benavides, and the Minister of Tourism, Allan Flores, joined JetBlue officials in making this announcement earlier today at the presidential palace in San Jose.

In addition to the introductory fare, three lucky contest winners who guessed the airline's 70th destination correctly in JetBlue's Guess Where We're Going promotion on Facebook won a four-day, three-night JetBlue Getaways vacation package for two, including flights and hotel accommodations to Liberia. Customers are encouraged to follow JetBlue on facebook.com/jetblue for more exciting promotions to come.

"We're delighted to be adding Liberia to our growing list of destinations and giving our customers access to the breathtaking Guanacaste beaches and natural parks," said Chad Meyerson, director of global sales for JetBlue Airways. "Costa Rica and its people have much to offer and have been a great partner since we started flying to San Jose more than two years ago. We're happy to be able to strengthen that relationship today while expanding our footprint in Central America."

"We are overjoyed that JetBlue has added Liberia to its list of destinations giving U.S. travelers even greater access to Costa Rica," said Allan Flores, Costa Rica Minister of Tourism. "This new route will allow U.S. travelers to have unprecedented access to Costa Rica's Northwestern region rich with so many tourist offerings, particularly during the high season months."

In addition to this new nonstop service to Liberia from New York, customers in Boston, Buffalo, Rochester, or Burlington, among other cities, can enjoy easy connecting service via JFK. JetBlue also flies to Bogota, Colombia in South America.
