OptumHealth Hosts Twin Cities Triathlon and Corporate Health Challenge July 24

The OptumHealth Twin Cities Triathlon course includes Olympic and Sprint distance races that offer everything from a 1.2-mile swim downstream in the scenic Mississippi River as it winds through downtown St. Paul, to steep hill climbs and smooth, fast roads with great views. The race is also an opportunity for spectators to enjoy St. Paul's historic neighborhoods, burgeoning businesses and river-front scenery. The sprint distance triathlon includes a 500-yard swim, 14-mile bike and 3.1-mile run. The Olympic distance triathlon consists of a 1.2-mile swim, 25-mile bike and 6.2-mile run.

"Our city has much to offer athletes and their families, so we are thrilled to be the host city of the OptumHealth Twin Cities Triathlon, bringing people together in St. Paul," said St. Paul Mayor Chris Coleman. "We host many grand-scale events every year, and Harriet Island serves as the perfect backdrop for a great family-friendly event."

Triathletes can choose to register individually or on behalf of the companies for which they work and that are participating in the Twin Cities Triathlon Corporate Health Challenge. The Corporate Health Challenge will recognize companies based on the largest representation of registered employees and the results of the fastest five employees from each corporation who complete the triathlon.
