SIU Appeal for Witnesses
On Friday July 1, 2011, at approximately 9:40 p.m. Toronto Police Service officers attended Winner's Circle in the vicinity of Boardwalk Drive in Toronto where a male was taken into custody by police officers.
The SIU is appealing for anyone who may have witnessed and/or photographed this incident, or who has any information in relation to the incident, to contact the SIU at (416) 622-2038, or 1-800-787-8529, extension 2038.
The SIU is a civilian law enforcement agency that investigates circumstances involving police and civilians which have resulted in serious injury, sexual assault or death. Under Part VII, Section 113, of the Police Services Act, the Director of the SIU has the sole authority to decide whether or not charges are warranted based on the findings of a complete investigation. The Director's decision is reported to the Attorney General.
