Fremont Insurance Announces Support for International Paddling Competition to be Held in Michigan Waters

FREMONT, Mich., July 5, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Fremont Insurance announced today its sponsorship of the 2011 USCA Canoe & Kayak National Championships race on the Muskegon River in Newaygo, Michigan this August. The Company's sponsorship will help support local and national media covering the race by providing infrastructure connections, such as Wi-Fi and electrical access, at designated areas during the race.

In the only international athletic competition in Michigan this year, nearly 1,000 participants from across the United States, Canada, and beyond will canoe, kayak and paddle down the Muskegon River in the final event of the competitive paddling season.

The Newaygo Nationals races will begin Tuesday, August 9 and run through Sunday, August 14. Events include canoe and kayak sprints, canoe instructor certification courses, youth sprints, biathlons, marathons and costume and fun paddling.
