August 4th, 5-10pm at the Glass Academy in Dearborn

Second annual "Hot Glass + Cold Beer" event happens August 4th from 5-10pm at the Glass Academy with live glassblowing demonstrations, cold beer from Michigan breweries, and food samples from Michigan companies.

Tickets sell for $55 and include a hand crafted drinking vessel made by Furnace Design Studio in the ticket price (value $35). Live glassblowing demonstrations will occur where customers can custom order mugs, pilsners, and pint glasses all evening. Larger and more elaborate drinking vessels are always available during the show, so customers can swap the basic drinking vessel for a custom designed mug or pilsner for an additional fee.

"Last year was the kickoff for the Hot Glass + Cold Beer Event and with such an amazing turnout we just felt we had to keep the tradition alive," states Chris Nordin, the co-founder of the event. "Our customers demand unique experiences and we don't want to let them down!!" For returning customers, this year's featured glass will be coke bottle green glass to add to the collection.

The breweries that were chosen cover a wide assortment of beer styles and locations so customers can sample beers that are crafted in Michigan. This year breweries include: Kuhnhenn of Warren, Motor City in Detroit, Dragonmead from Warren, and Short's Brewery in Bellaire.

VIP tickets sell for $200 which includes an extra fancy drinking vessel with a green stem (value $150), private dining menu, and front row seating for demos.

Tickets can be purchased on-line at www.GlassAcademy.com, by phone at 313-561-4527 or in person at the Glass Academy, 25331 Trowbridge St. in Dearborn. The Studio Gallery, featuring works made at the Glass Academy, will also be open for purchases from 5-10pm during the show.
