NNTP is a transfer protocol (similar to HTTP or FTP) that specifically handles network news, or Usenet content. NNTP retention is the length of time that a binary or text file is available to subscribers. 1050 days of NNTP retention means that Easynews customers can access binary files that were posted to Usenet newsgroups up to 1050 days ago.
