Department of Veterans Affairs Awards Humana Veterans Project ARCH Contract
LOUISVILLE, Ky. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Humana Veterans Healthcare Services, a subsidiary of Humana Military
Healthcare Services owned by Humana Inc. (NYSE: HUM), announces today it
was awarded the Project ARCH (Access Received Closer to Home) contract
by the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). The contract provides a
range of specified health care services to eligible Veterans in certain
pilot sites to improve access to health care delivery for Veterans who
must travel significant distances to receive care at a VA medical
facility.
Under Project ARCH, Humana Veterans will administer Veteran health care
services needs closer to their home, contract management functions, as
well as administrative services including referral management,
grievances, coordination of admission and discharges, and clinical
quality improvement in four of the five pilot VISNs designated by VA:

VISN 6 - Farmville, Virginia (Hunter Holmes McGuire VA Medical Center)
-
VISN 15 - Pratt, Kansas (Robert J. Dole VA Medical Center)
-
VISN 18 - Flagstaff, Arizona (Northern Arizona VA Health Care System)
-
VISN 19 - Billings, Montana (Montana VA Health Care System)
Project ARCH intends to improve access for eligible Veterans by
connecting them to health care services closer to home without
sacrificing the quality of care Veterans receive within the VA
healthcare system.

The Project ARCH contract has a base period of three months and three
one-year option periods exercisable by the VA.
