"The waters are finally receding, and over 4,000 people are expected to lose their homes," says Larry Bernhardt, Executive Director of Catholic Charities North Dakota. "This is the worst flooding that Minot has seen in over a century - they are going to need financial donations and on-the-ground assistance for months to come."

The flood waters surpassed the 130-year record of 1,558 feet above sea level last weekend, displacing thousands of residents, who are now waiting in nearby communities to assess the damages to their homes.

Catholic Charities USA is assisting Catholic Charities North Dakota as they coordinate efforts with other local emergency relief organizations to provide food, shelter, utility assistance, and other key services.

To help victims in Minot and other disaster-stricken areas, please visit the Catholic Charities USA Disaster Donation Page.
