J.R. Simplot Company Selects Zayo for Critical Metro Connections
LOUISVILLE, Colo. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Zayo, a provider of bandwidth and fiber infrastructure services, has
signed a multi-year agreement with J.R. Simplot, one of the world's
largest privately owned food processing and agricultural companies.
Under the terms of the agreement, Zayo is providing lit high-bandwidth
connectivity to each of Simplot's 10 facilities in the Boise, Nampa and
Caldwell, Idaho area. Zayo is providing 10Gbps
Wavelength service between Simplot's two enterprise data
centers as well as ring protected, metro Ethernet service connecting its
10 major Boise-area locations with its facilities across the nation and
around the world.
With this new metropolitan area network, Simplot is able to integrate
its various locations more readily, and leverage its ERP system
investments. The company is also able to better leverage AgVance, a
strategic business application for managing land and livestock
operations, across all of its facilities. In addition, the new data
center connectivity provided by Zayo will become a critical part of
Simplot's disaster recovery planning.
"We don't view Zayo as a vendor, but as a partner core to our business
strategies," said Mark Sachs, network technology manager for Simplot.
"Not only does Zayo have a large network presence in Boise, but when we
were evaluating network partners, the entire Zayo team comprising
engineers, executives and sales took the time to understand our needs
and develop a custom solution for us."
Zayo's network in Boise and the surrounding areas includes 175
on-net buildings and 182 route miles of fiber.
"Our network footprint is only half the equation when it comes to
working with a major enterprise such as J.R. Simplot," said Steven
Williams, Vice President and General Manager of West Region, Zayo
Networks. "We also bring experience and take a partnership approach with
our customers. This customized approach helped us create a compelling
solution for J.R. Simplot's dedicated network needs."
