Dusty Showers Helps Cancer Patient Dance with Ellen

All Jolene Von Millanich wants to do is dance with Ellen DeGeneres. But Jolene isn't just any woman, and her story isn't as simple as that; but her story touched Ellen, who heard about it from Dusty Showers and a group of breast cancer survivors, and she invited Jolene to dance with her on her show.

Dusty Showers, the "Man in the Pink Bra" and possibly the most recognizable man in the fight against breast cancer, is making it his priority to get Jolene her on-air dance with talk show host and comedian Ellen.

Showers is a Breast Cancer Advocate, and Inspirational Speaker who has toured the United States speaking about the importance of yearly screenings, and provides a message of hope for those stricken with the disease. He has walked in numerous 3-Day walks, teamed with major cancer organizations and appeared on Oprah for his cause.

Jolene suffers from a rare and aggressive type of breast cancer, called Phyllodes, she has undergone a grueling surgery to remove the tumor and most of her right jaw and replace it with a bone from her leg.

Unfortunately, the tumor recurred in December and Jolene had to undergo an even more extensive surgery to remove the new tumor and more of her jaw, including her chin.

After reading about Jolene's amazing story, Showers wanted to find out more. With the help of a group of determined breast cancer survivors, two VIP tickets were secured for Jolene and her mom to the May 25 taping of Ellen's show.

"Through all of this, Jolene has maintained a positive attitude and a joy for life," Showers says. "She has shown incredible courage and strength."

Now that she'll be attending a taping of "Ellen," all that's left is to get Jolene her dance with the show's star, which Showers and Jolene's supporters are promising to do.

Showers is the founder of The 2nd Basemen, a breast cancer-fighting organization that includes many men.
