McKesson and Wakefern Executives Join GS1 US Board of Governors
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Joe Sheridan of Wakefern
Food Corp. and Mark Walchirk of McKesson
Corporation have been appointed to the GS1 US Board of Governors,
the organization announced today. GS1
US is a not-for-profit organization that develops supply-chain
standards, solutions and services for 25 industries.
Sheridan is Executive Vice President for Wakefern, the United States'
largest retailer-owned cooperative, whose 47 members operate more than
230 supermarkets under the ShopRite banner. He oversees corporate
merchandising, advertising, marketing, finance, technology, quality
assurance, communications, warehousing, transportation, and all of
Wakefern's product divisions. Sheridan serves on the Board of Governors
and the Executive Committee for the National Grocers Association, as
well as on the Board of Directors, Wholesale Advisory Board, and
Executive Committee for the Food Marketing Institute. He was named 2009
Marketer of the Year by Supermarket News.

Encompass Group, Walchirk has driven significant supply-chain
innovations on behalf of his customers.
