Glow in the Dark 'Green Lantern' Never Flourished
Green Lantern Movie Review, If your a critic and a major writer than learn to do your darn research. "Hallucinatory, glow in the dark gangbangers with trippy green bling which obscures the WW II roots of the DC comic that flourished back then. The subliminal focus was instead on what green stuff was in the pipes those filmmakers may have been smoking."
WWII roots? This character if you had looked up on any wiki or source material would have shown that it has no bearing on it's WWII roots. The golden age Green Lantern (Alan Scott) has nothing to do with this film or it's plot.
The golden age Green Lantern never flourished. The book lasted only a couple of years and went into obscurity.
"Okay, I get it. While the yellow peril wreaking havoc out there was no doubt a deplorable reference to the Japanese back in the day, that connotation lingers no matter how diminished in the movie."
This character was born out of the late 50's to early 60's from the Right Stuff era and the space race.
The silver age Green Lantern (Hal Jordan) has no ties to the golden age Green Lantern, other than the ring and lantern.
There is no connection to Japanese or any other race than what you are smoking. And again, Hal Jordan has no ties to WWII.
This opionionated crap is pure drivel. I have never replied to someone's writing before, but this ignorance of facts is appalling. Learn to research!!! Which should be something you should have been taught from Barnard College, Columbia University.
Thanks,
SR Bantz
