Lady Gaga's 'Born This Way' Colossal Flop
By Robert Paul Reyes
"Is Lady Gaga really 'Born this Way'? After a spectacular first week of sales, with almost 1.2 million copies of her CD and downloads sold, the second week shows a big fall off. 'Born this Way' sold only 169,387 copies last week. That's a drop of 85% from the first week. It's important to remember that 440,000 of those first week sales were only for 99 cents." Read More
Lady Gaga belongs under the Big Top of a circus and not in a recording studio or a stage. Lady Gaga's outlandish personality and garish wardrobe are a natural for the circus; the sideshow freaks would welcome her with open arms.
The circus comes to town once a year, and for a couple of days with can deal with the freaks, elephants and clowns. But to put up with Lady Gaga's antics and sophomoric songs all year long is a nightmare.
"Born This Way" is the most overhyped album in generations, it pales in comparison to a CD by a true artist like Adele. A music lover might dance to Lady Gaga's overproduced songs in the club when he's high and drunk, but when he's sober and home in his bedroom he'll recognize Gaga's product as unadulterated trash.
"Born This Way" really wasn't much of a bargain at 99 cents.
