New High Voltage, Serial to Parallel Converters From Supertex Provide High Packing Density

HV5523 & HV5623 Offer 32 Channels in 7x7mm QFN Package

Supertex, Inc. (NASDAQ: SUPX), a recognized leader in high voltage analog and mixed signal integrated circuits (ICs), today introduced HV5523 and HV5623, 32-channel high voltage serial to parallel converters from low voltage inputs for use in printer and MEMS applications. These ICs feature 32 bit shift registers capable of up to 16MHz, 32 latches, and 5V control logic to perform the polarity selection and blanking of the outputs. HV5523 shifts data in a counter-clockwise direction, while HV5623 does so in a clockwise direction.

These ICs excel in performance, especially in applications that are driven by an open drain output up to 220V, such as inkjet printers, plasma panels and vacuum fluorescent or large matrix LCD displays. Their 220V open drain outputs with 100mA minimum sink current capability lets them drive heavier piezo loads with faster slew rates.

"HV5523 and HV5623 offer designers the flexibility to minimize crossover traces in their applications through different data shift register directions," states Stephen Lin, Vice President of Marketing for Supertex. "These 32 channel ICs come in a compact 7x7mm QFN package, which allows designers to increase channel packing density in any systems with confined space."

HV5523 and HV5623 are available in a 7x7mm, 44-lead QFN package (HV5523K7-G and HV5623K7-G). The parts are RoHS compliant. Samples are available from stock. Lead-time for production quantities is 4-6 weeks ARO. Pricing is US$5.30 each for the HV5523K7-G and the HV5623K7-G, both in 1K quantities.
