Hundreds of Breast Cancer Advocates to Call on Congress to Maintain Commitment to Breast Health Care Access, Cancer Research
WASHINGTON, D.C. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - Hundreds of breast cancer advocates from across the country will join
the leadership of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and Members of Congress
on Capitol Hill Thursday, April 14, to urge lawmakers to ensure all
women have access to quality breast cancer screening, and to invest in
research to bring about the next generation of treatments and screening
technology. Komen for the Cure will emphasize that they are partners in
the process, and will discuss their just announced new research
investments.
Komen's day on Capitol Hill will begin with a Congressional Breakfast in
the Rayburn House Office Building featuring remarks from Ambassador
Nancy G. Brinker, founder and CEO of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, as
well as approximately 20 Members of Congress (invited). By day's end,
offices on both sides of the Capitol will have heard Komen advocates
stress the importance of quality early detection and the need to
continue to drive cancer research to discover and deliver the cures to
breast cancer.
