Sports Lifestyle Publication Launches National Edition
NEW YORK, April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Blood, Sweat & Cheers, the only free, daily email that helps young professionals get up, get out and play more, is expanding with the launch of a national edition.
Founded by New York lifestyle writer Jonathan Ages (who's work has been published by ABCNews, NYMag, and ForbesTraveller), BSC's National edition is founded in partnership with outdoor apparel label Helly Hansen.
The publication sends witty, baseball card-length articles offering subscribers a fresh take on fantasy sports leagues, crazy competitions, awesome spectator sports, butt-kicking workouts and sports gear. Readers discover everything from a muddy obstacle course race series to an iPod Nano sports watch to the best way to score discount tickets to the big game.
BSC launched in beta in July 2010 with the introduction of the New York edition. It quickly grew to thousands of daily subscribers through word of mouth. Jonathan Ages founded BSC because he was tired of his own work-gym-bar rut. He knew his city of New York had more to offer -- but he was too busy to research fun events and activities. As he puts it, "My friends and I were constantly struggling to find stuff to do that didn't require a rental car and an expense account. There are guides to restaurants and bars, but there's no savvy guide to going out and having fun."
