General Dynamics' InForce(TM) Training Toolkit to Support Vincennes University Hospital Simulation Lab

InForce tactical instrumentation is an integrated, lightweight and portable unit that requires minimal set-up time. It maximizes instrumentation, technology and special effects components for realistic, live sensory experiences and enhanced situational awareness training in close-quarters operations. The system contains a camera with day/night capability, a microphone for two-way audio, a speaker for recorded sound effects, operator-controlled power output, Ethernet power and General Dynamics Information Technology's Command and Control Integrated Technology (C2IT) software.

"The mobility of the InForce instrumentation makes it a perfect fit to embed within the training program at our simulation laboratory where we replicate potential real-life scenarios," said Dr. Alan Johnson, assistant vice president and dean of Vincennes University's Jasper Campus. "InForce's recording capability will provide indoor and field support to create a comprehensive environment to train medical professionals on the best techniques for optimal care."

The Vincennes University laboratory duplicates the environment of an actual hospital or emergency situation with human mannequins that can mimic symptoms of various diseases and ailments. The InForce instrumentation will transmit live training for various scenarios with sight, sound and smell to a remote classroom. The entire exercise can be taped and replayed so the participants can assess their strengths and weaknesses.
