Kansas Jayhawk Twins Marcus Morris and Markieff Morris Will Enter NBA Draft

BEVERLY HILLS, Calif. - (BUSINESS WIRE) - University of Kansas forwards Marcus Morris and Markieff Morris announced today that they will both enter the 2011 NBA draft. Twin brothers, the Philadelphia natives led the Jayhawks in scoring, rebounding, and blocked shots during the 2010-2011 season. Marcus was the AP Big 12 Conference Player of the Year and second team AP All-American, averaging 17.2 points and 7.6 rebounds per game, shooting .570 from the field. Markieff, was an AP All American Honorable Mention, averaging 13.6 points and 8.3 rebounds per game, shooting .589 from the field.

"I have thoroughly enjoyed my three seasons as a Kansas Jayhawk, and consider it a privilege to have had the opportunity to play for coach Self and his staff," said Marcus Morris. "It was a difficult decision but I feel it's the right time for me to realize my dream to play in the National Basketball Association."

"As I move on to the professional stage of my career I will always remember my time as a Jayhawk," said Markieff Morris. "Playing here has prepared me for the opportunity to have a successful career in the NBA."
