DIYNetwork.com Gives Viewers a Voice...and a Chance to Win, with "Blog Cabin" and "Run My Renovation" Voting Throughout April
NEW YORK - (BUSINESS WIRE) - All this month, DIYNetwork.com
is giving fans what they want-the opportunity to decide what design
elements will be included in DIY Network's hit series Blog
Cabin and Run
My Renovation, a chance to win prizes in several
interactive giveaways, an opportunity to expose their ugly front yards
to the online community for a shot at a $25,000 Desperate
Landscapes makeover and a reason to celebrate "Throne
Week" leading up to the Royal Wedding on April 29.
Specific offerings are listed below:
-
Blog
Cabin: The first-ever interactive home building television
series is once again inviting the world to participate in "citizen
design" to help renovate a 1900s Chesapeake Bay waterfront home. DIY
Network's Blog Cabin asks viewers to log on to DIYNetwork.com/blogcabin
to vote and blog on design elements of the ultimate vacation home.
Through May 9, fans can vote up to 10 times per day on decor-related
items to be included in the home. Then, they can enter the Cabin
Comforts sweepstakes once per day for a chance to win one of the items
featured each week.
Premiering in August for its fifth season, Blog Cabin is hosted
by licensed contractor Matt
Blashaw and features a team of DIY Network's expert hosts
transforming a 3-bedroom, 2-bath early 1900s home into a modern-day
retreat. Since January, DIYNetwork.com has asked viewers to vote on
various elements of the home's renovation, generating over 5.5 million
total votes. Viewer choices will be incorporated during construction of
the home this summer, which viewers can then enter to win on
DIYNetwork.com starting on August 18.
-
Run
My Renovation: The makeover show where the
viewers call the shots is back! And now, fans can cast their vote and
enter for a chance to win
a plush prize. Vote once a day for a new renovation project posted
every other week through September 1, and you could win the top-voted
item from one of the questions.
In every half-hour episode of Run My Renovation, homeowners allow
a room in their house to be completely transformed according to the
whims of online users, who vote on everything from flooring to fixtures,
cabinets to cooktops, and moldings to mantelpieces. When the votes are
tallied, it's up to licensed contractor and host, John
DeSilvia, to pull all of the elements together into an amazing room. Run
My Renovation airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. ET on DIY Network.

America's
Most Desperate Landscape: Returning for its fourth year,
DIY Network unveils the details of its annual search for the ugliest
front yard in America. Viewers can submit photos and videos of their
ugly yard to DIYNetwork.com, for the chance to receive a $25,000
makeover courtesy of licensed contractor Jason
Cameron and his Desperate
Landscapes crew. The selection of the winner and the dramatic
transformation are documented in DIY Network's one-hour special, America's
Most Desperate Landscape, premiering on July 13 at 10 p.m. ET.
-
Tuesday
Toolsday: Each Tuesday on DIYNetwork.com's
blog, The
Pegboard, fans will have a chance to win a featured tool. To
be considered for the drawings, just post a comment in the blog,
answering the question of the week. The following Tuesday,
DIYNetwork.com will randomly select a winner to receive the featured
tool.

Royal Wedding Throne Week: For those who didn't receive
an invitation to William and Kate's royal wedding celebration,
DIYNetwork.com invites you to Throne Week. In celebration of
National Plumber's Day on April 25 and the Royal Wedding on April 29,
DIYNetwork.com offers up a week-long procession of their most engaging
bathroom-improvement content. Starting April 15, visit www.diynetwork.com/throneweek
for resources and tips for creating a bathroom fit for a king. Check
out the latest trends, before and after photos of bathroom renovations
and video footage from DIY Network's series Bath
Crashers and BATHtastic!
In addition, DIY Network will air a King
of Dirt marathon the night of the Royal Wedding, April 29, from
8 p.m. to 12 a.m. ET. Watch Gino
Panaro, the King of Dirt, in back-to-back episodes the night
of the royal nuptials. He's definitely not what you'd expect from one of
America's premier landscape contractors. He's a loud,
bull-in-a-china-shop kind of guy who happens to create incredible
beauty. For his landscape designs, Gino doesn't use a computer or fake
graphic technology. Instead, he relies on his imagination, his hands and
the help of his brother Ralph, who works with him in a family landscape
business to create some of the most beautiful, high-end landscapes and
hardscapes you'll ever see.
