Smile Bangladesh, a New Jersey based 501(c)3 nonprofit medical organization dedicated to caring for children and adults afflicted with facial cleft deformities in Bangladesh and around the world, will visit the NASDAQ MarketSite in New York City's Times Square.
In honor of the occasion, Dr. Shahid Aziz, President and Co-Founder of Smile Bangladesh, will ring the Closing Bell.

Smile Bangladesh is a New Jersey based 501(c)3 non profit. It was founded in April 2010 by a group of medical professionals who have significant experience with humanitarian missions in Bangladesh and around the world. Smile Bangladesh's mission is to provide medical and surgical care to indigent children and adults with facial cleft deformities in Bangladesh, the Indian sub-continent, and around the world. Bangladesh is a small nation (roughly the size of Idaho) to the east of India. In spite of its small size, it is one of the most densely populated countries, with 162 million people. It is estimated that there are 300,000 children and adults with unrepaired cleft lip and palate facial deformities in this country, and only 20-30 native surgeons formally trained in cleft surgery. This means a ratio of 15,000 patients to each surgeon, an impossible number to treat. To help answer this need, Smile Bangladesh sends medical teams 2-3 times per year to operate on the neediest with cleft deformities.
