MARINA DEL REY, Calif., April 4, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Marina del Rey Toyota is proud to announce its sponsorship for the girl's Varsity and Junior Varsity basketball team for its seventh year.

On January 27th, 2011, General Manager Kevin Ray and Vice President Jamie Bishton handed a check over to team coach Dominick Flores. Over the past seven years, Marina del Rey Toyota has been a major financial contributor to Venice High School Girls Basketball.

"With their financial assistance, it has helped our program continue year round as we develop our skills," Flores explains. "The financial contribution has helped Venice High School purchase new equipment, uniforms as well as offsetting our tournament expenses. More importantly, it has taught our young adults the importance of giving back and supporting our community. Together, we can accomplish many positive things."

"It's always been about giving back to the community," General Manager Kevin Ray says. "Any way that we can assist our youth's involvement in sportsmanship, teamwork and physical fitness is a reward in itself. Marina del Rey Toyota is only too happy to sponsor a group of young women who are determined to succeed athletically and academically."

The athletic program for the Venice Gondoliers is considered among the best in the Los Angeles Unified School District.
